The Ensemble

Featuring saxophonists Brian Perez, guitarist Sebastian Morales, pianist Jarrett McConnell, and drummer Willie Britton III, the ensemble performs eclectic compositions written by Israel Neuman (also the ensemble’s bassist/producer) and vocalists Trinity Brooks and Cole Bracey. The ensemble’s original repertoire fuses the power of hip hop with the versatility of jazz to form a uniquely forceful expression. The music hints at a number of other musical genres as well, including rhythm and blues and middle-eastern folk music, to name a few. With evocative lyrics, masterful modulations, and a smooth blend of celebrated musical styles, the Volution Ensemble invites a wide audience of music lovers to the table. The Volution Ensemble is ingrained in the Texas Southern University (TSU) community, the nation’s second largest HBCU. In partnership with the TSU School of Communication and music department, the ensemble produces original music, supports the growth of developing artists, and offers media production students internship and work opportunities in sound engineering, video production and marketing.
